Here are some of our tips, usage and care instructions to help preserve the cookware’s original beauty:
1. Before You Use Your New Cuisinart 77-10 Cookware
You need to wash your new cookware thoroughly before using it for the first time. You have two options: hand-wash in warm water with mild soap or detergent, or you can put in your dishwasher. Be sure to wipe dry immediately with a soft dish towel.
Cuisinart does recommend using plastic or wooden utensils. You can also use metal ones if that is your preference – just know it may scratch the surface – but won’t affect the performance of your cookware in any way.
3. How to cook with your new 77-10 Stainless Steel Cookware set
This set has the aluminum encapsulated base which makes it highly conducive for quick and even heat distribution. Low to Medium is the recommended setting for most cooking needs.
4. How to break the vacuum seal if one occurs:
The unique design of the rims and lids form a perfect fit to reduce evaporation. A partial vacuum seal may form making it difficult to remove the lid. To break this seal, turn the heat all the way to off for a few moments – and voila – the cover will come off easily.
5. When using a gas stove:
Be sure the flame only touches the bottom of the pan (not coming up the sides). If the flame comes up the sides – you’ll not only waste energy but also risk the sides becoming discolored.
6. How to best maintain your Cuisinart 77-10 Cookware set:
As soon as you finish using, fill up the pot or pan with hot water and liquid soap – let stand until at least lukewarm. Do not use steel wool or other rough surfaces to clean or it will scratch. Use a sponge or soft cloth to remove any food particles. Rinse and dry immediately for the best finish. When using the dishwasher – pack it with care – other dishes or flatware can mar the surface. Don’t use a lemon detergent with this cookware.
7. Removing stubborn residue or stains:
If food burns – you may end up with a black residue. If soaking doesn’t help, add water up to one inch in the pan and then a tablespoon of dishwasher detergent (non-lemon) – then bring it to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Let pan cool – loose with a sponge. You can repeat this step.
If you end up with stains on the outside bottom of the pan – use oven cleaner. Follow the cleaner’s instructions and spray or brush on ONLY the outside bottom of the pan. If oven cleaner directions call for using in a warm oven – then heat up the pan before applying the cleaner. Rinse thoroughly when done.
