Whether this cookware is to be used just for your daily home-cooking for your family, or whether you are having a holiday feast, this sturdy and attractive cookware can hold up to its demands. Overall, the Kitchenaid cookware has many favorable reviews. Most people enjoy the hard, nonstick surface, the ability to heat foods quickly and evenly and the easy clean-up afterward. However, there have been several reports criticizing the way that the lids are oddly shaped, therefore, difficult to store in a neatly stacked way. Some have also reported that they find the pots to be too small for cooking for a lot of people. Still others have stated that the lid is not broken resistant. One customer said that the lid fell from a short distance and shattered immediately. There is also no way to order the lids separately from the cookware. By contrast, however, one customer said that when they dropped their lid, it was fine, without a scratch. Perhaps that can be explained by considering the material that each floor was possibly made of.
“I’m pleased with the quality of these pans, the evenness of cooking and the heat resistant handles.”
A few months later, the same customer updated their review, stating:
“I wish I could subtract one star for this product. The break resistance of the lids is not very effective. A drop from one of my lower shelves, about 10 inches from the floor, shattered the lid. I was stunned!’
In sharp contrast to this review, another customer which had also dropped their lid stated:
“The glass tops are stylish and very durable. We even dropped one once, and…not a scratch!”
Due to the non-stick surface, it is recommended that you not clean your Kitchenaid cookware in a dishwasher. To do so could damage the non-stick surface and additionally, can void your warranty. So, if you find handwashing a few pots and pans to be a major problem, you should stick to regular surfaces without the non-stick coating. In that case, the Kitchenaid series would not be suitable for you.
The pots and pans contained in the Kitchenaid series are worth the money that they cost, and much more. Of the 184 customer reviews, the vast majority were very pleased with their purchase, and would recommend them to a friend. Most complaints were only minor, not even enough to warrant returning the item. The overall rating was about 4 1/3 stars, which is pretty significant for so many reviews. The Kitchenaid Gourmet Essentials top quality hard anodized cookware set is quite a bargain at under $200.00 for a set of high-quality non-stick cookware, even with the cons. The cookware comes complete with a one-year warranty from Kitchenaid. Additionally, when you order from Amazon, they have their excellent return policy on any product that they endorse. In the unlikely event that the customer is dissatisfied, the problem can easily be remedied by the easy return policy.
